Day 6

Day 6
6 November 2014
4:30 pm

Today we all went to Hydromania! Hydromania means an excessive love of water. The reason we decided to spend our day here is due to the fact that this water park in ranked number one in Rome. There are big slides for the people who dare to ride them and then you have more mild rides that aren't that terrifying. The slides are also very fast and sometimes deep. One of my favorites was the wave pool. The waves were really fun because it felt like you were at the beach but at the same time you could go enjoy yourself on the slides. One thing I do wish was a little different was the size of the lines! They were long due to the fact that there was an abundant amount of people. I guess this is good because it means the water park is very popular. After all is said and done, I think this is a great place to go if you just want to relax. To have a day were you just lay out on a tanning chair or ride on all the slides. I would rate Hyromania a four-and-a-half out of five. I enjoyed everything it really had to offer!

Day 5

Day 5
5 November 2014
6:00 pm

Today we visited the St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. This is one of the most famous Roman Catholic churches in Italy. I honestly can see why it has that title! One interesting fact that we learned about Basilica is that it isn't the original model. The first church was built during the 4th century time period by Emperor Constantine. Emperor Constantine was the Roman empire's first Christian emperor. This original spot is believed to be where St. Peter is buried. During the Renaissance period, the church was in really bad condition. Due to this happening, Pope Julius II decided to build a new one with the help of Michelangelo. Anyways that's some of the background information about the church. Now back to our wonderful experience! It was absolutely mind blowing to see all of the  architecture and art that surrounds you right when you enter the church. Michelangelo's Pietá is shielded by a bullet proof glass.  Obviously due to the fact that it is such a wonderful piece of work. Today went very well in our eyes. Italy is home to a lot of magnificent art and architecture. If you are interested in anything of that nature then this if definitely the place for you!

Day 4

Day 4
4 November 2014

Today we went to play paintball at Ares paintball course in Notturna, Italy. The main game we participated in was speedball. In speedball you are provided with an equal playing field for each team competing. It was created this way due to the fact that game makers wanted to give a better format for competitive paintball. Both for playing and viewing the games. The game of paintball is universal and I definitely know why! The way the course was set up was unbelievable. Not only is it so fun to play due to the high speed and adrenaline that runs through you but also the the experience is unforgettable. What also made our time here at the Ares Paintball course today was the weather. It was eighty degrees Fahrenheit. To add to the wonderful temperature, there was not one single cloud in the sky. If you don't think that's perfect then I don't know what is. After this crazy fun activity, we decided to grab something to eat. We attended the Scholars Lounge restaurant here in Rome. I would give the hospitality rating a four out of five. Everything was very nice and I really enjoyed the feel of the restaurant. The food was great but I just wish they had a variety of food rather than what they had on the menus. We all spent exactly fifteen dollars on our meals. I would say that's a pretty good price considering the how fantastic their food was. After that long day we all headed back to the hotel to get some rest. Tomorrow will be a new adventure....

Day 3

Day 3
3 November 2014
9:30 pm

Due to the perfect weather in Italy, we decided to visit the well known amusement park, Gardaland. Gardaland is the eighth most popular theme park in Europe. The park was first established on July 19, 1975. Compared to the other rides, our favorite was the Blue Tornado. This ride is known to be the main attraction of the park and we know why! Not only was it exhilarating, but it was also very enjoyable. It had everything one could ask for in a roller coaster ride. When the fun had came to an end, it was time to get something to eat. Our place of choice was Pizzeria Saloon. There were over twenty different pizzas. Each having a unique taste and flavor to it. After eating dinner we took the bus to get back to our hotel. What a day, wouldn’t you say?

Day 2

Day 2
2 November 2014
6:00 pm

Today was one of the most spectacular ones yet! This morning at 11:30 am we attended the Italian Grand Prix. The Italian Grand Prix is one of the longest running events on the Formula One calendar. Also Formula One is the highest class of single-seater auto racing. Moto racing is known to be very popular in Italy. The first race was held in 1921 which means it has been around for almost 93 years. Not only was the staff welcoming but they also had extremely good racers attending the event. A racer by the name of Lewis Hamilton holds the fastest lap time which is 1:25.849. That is considered to be exceptionally fast. To add to the wonderful day, the weather was beautiful. It was eighty degrees fahrenheit and not a cloud was in the sky. After all is said and done, the Italian Grand Prix is definitely a location tourist should visit!
